How we verify
One transparent standard behind every listing. Here is exactly what we check, how we grade assurance, and how we keep it honest and up to date.
Trust that you can check, not just claims
Anyone can call a stay halal-friendly. We hold every listing to one written standard covering dining, prayer, privacy, alcohol and family suitability, then show you the level of assurance and the date it was last checked. When we cannot confirm something, we label it plainly rather than guess.
What we check
Six areas that decide whether a stay genuinely works for a halal-conscious family.
Halal dining
On-site halal food, certification or supplier evidence, and how alcohol-free and cross-contamination needs are handled.
Prayer facilities
Prayer rooms or musallah, qibla direction, prayer mats, and proximity to a mosque or jummah.
Privacy and pools
Private-pool options, gender-segregated or family-only pools and spa areas, and screened beaches where offered.
Alcohol policy
Whether alcohol is served, where, and whether alcohol-free stays or zones are genuinely available.
Family suitability
Family rooms, connecting rooms, kids facilities, and a family-first atmosphere rather than a party scene.
Safety and conduct
Cleanliness, safeguarding, staff conduct and an environment aligned with modest, family values.
Our verification levels
Every listing shows one of three levels, so you always know how much has been confirmed.
Verified
Independently checked by our team against the full standard, with supporting evidence and a last-verified date. The highest level of assurance.
Operator-confirmed
Key halal and family attributes confirmed in writing by the property, but not yet independently inspected by our team.
Self-reported
Attributes drawn from the property's own public information and awaiting confirmation. Shown transparently as such.
The process
How a property moves from listed to verified.
- 1
Screen
We assess the property against our halal and family criteria using public information, official certification and direct enquiry.
- 2
Request evidence
We ask the operator to confirm attributes in writing and provide supporting evidence: halal certificates, prayer facilities, pool and alcohol policies.
- 3
Review and grade
Our team reviews the evidence, resolves gaps, and assigns a verification level. Anything unconfirmed is labelled honestly.
- 4
Re-verify
Listings are re-checked on a rolling basis and when policies change, so the last-verified date stays meaningful.
What we promise
To show the verification level and last-verified date, to label anything unconfirmed honestly, and to correct listings quickly when things change.
What we don't claim
Verification is not a religious ruling and doesn't replace your own judgement. Policies can change between visits: always confirm specifics that matter most to your family.
